Work with Phil

Apply for a working relationship

Three ways to work together. One application. Phil reads each one personally.

The retirement planning industry has trained most prospects to expect a calendar link and a sales call. This page works differently. The form below asks you to describe your situation in your own words. I read every application personally. Some applicants are a good fit for working together and we set up a conversation. Some are better served by the worksheets and writing on this site, and I tell them so. Either way, you get a real response from me, not an automated reply or a calendar invite.

The application takes about ten minutes. It is most useful to me, and to you, after you have completed at least the Income Floor Diagnostic worksheet.

Two engagements, depending on whether you want to learn the framework yourself or have the planning work done for you.

The Coached Blueprint

Learn the framework and build your own plan, with my guidance.

$2,495
Four weeks · One 60-min call per week · One-on-one, virtual

Over four weekly calls, we work through your specific situation together. You complete pre-work before each call. I review it, surface what is missing or unclear, and teach you how to think about the next layer.

By the end of the four weeks, you have a written plan you have built yourself, covering your income floor, your tax landscape across retirement, your Roth conversion strategy through the Gap Years window, and the implementation roadmap that follows.

The deliverable is not a polished tax plan I have produced for you. It is your own work product, assembled over the four weeks. The point is that you understand every assumption in it, because you made them.

Best for: clients who would rather understand why a decision is correct than be told it's correct.

The Tax-Protected Income Blueprint

A finished planning deliverable, produced by a professional.

$3,500
Three to four weeks · Discovery call, then delivery call

After an initial discovery call to gather your situation and goals, I do the planning work using tax planning software and the full framework.

The output is a written deliverable of approximately 15 pages, covering your income floor analysis, your multi-year tax projection, your Roth conversion plan year by year, your IRMAA and ACA considerations, and your implementation roadmap.

We meet for a delivery call to walk through it and answer your questions.

Best for: clients who want a plan produced by someone who has done this work many times.

Ongoing Advisory

For graduates of either Blueprint engagement.

This is the natural next step for clients who have completed one of the Blueprint engagements and want a continuing relationship rather than a fixed engagement. Retirement plans are not one-time documents. Tax law changes. Markets change. Your situation changes. The Advisory relationship gives you access to me for the questions that arise between major planning events.

Format: Quarterly review calls, email access for situational questions, annual plan refresh. Pricing is discussed individually based on the depth of relationship you are looking for. This option is not a primary entry point into the practice — it is a follow-on for graduates of the planning work.

Get in touch

If one of these engagements sounds like the right fit, the next step is a short application form so I can understand your situation before we talk.

The three ways to work together

Which one fits?

If you are not sure which engagement fits, that is fine. The application form asks you to tell me which one you are leaning toward and why. I read your situation and respond with my honest opinion. Sometimes, a Coached Blueprint applicant is better served by the TPIB. Sometimes, a TPIB applicant would learn more from the Coached version. The application is the start of a conversation, not a final decision.
